When I was in my mid-teens, the Viet Nam war was raging. I was old enough to understand the injustice of sending young men to die in a senseless war, but too young to do anything about it.
It was then I vowed that should my country ever face another crisis that undermined our democracy, I wouldn’t sit on the sidelines. I’d do what my parents raised me to do: stand up to power by telling the truth.
That’s why you’re reading this.
Today we have a dangerous idiot in the White House, enabled by a complicit cabinet and cowardly Congress. Every day they’re doing everything within their considerable power to unravel the progress we’ve made as a nation to protect our environment, provide help to our most vulnerable citizens, support women’s rights, provide consumer protections, promote civil rights, foster free speech and maintain world peace.
I won't sit idly by while this happens and I’m urging you not to either.
What I’ve chosen to do is assemble a small group of extremely experienced journalists with a common goal: to shine a light on the dangerous fools now in positions of power and feeding off your tax dollars.
We know you may not be able to pay for a subscription to The New York Times and Washington Post, or maybe you don’t have time to keep up with the cascade of political news. So we’re doing it for you. We’re monitoring important stories, condensing and simplifying them, then delivering them to your inbox.
Please support us by reading our work, spreading the word on social media, signing up for our newsletter and, if you can, contributing to our cause. Part of every donation will keep our lights on; part will go to other organizations that share similar goals.
Everyone associated with this site feeds their families by working as a freelance journalist. Since we could lose outside work by taking a public political stand, we’ve collectively decided to remain anonymous.
Rest assured, however, while our names may be fake, our news isn’t. It’s real, it’s happening and it’s affecting you and yours every day.
